Practice Update

The health and safety of patients and staff is Mr White’s highest priority.

As many people already know, the management of COVID-19 has put a great deal of stress on our normal health system. The most dramatic effects apart from the illness itself is a restriction on our ability to see patients face-to-face and then enact a suitable and appropriate treatment.

This is something that affects both the public and private sectors.

With the new telehealth medicare provider number, Mr Dean White is moving to incorporate a telehealth model.

This means, that your appointment with Mr White may be held over the phone or a video conference rather than in-person.

With the severe restrictions encompassing the health sector, Mr White can only treat trauma (category 1 and 2a) patients.

Examples of surgery that can currently be performed include

  • Acute trauma
  • Skin cancers
  • Other conditions that are likely to deteriorate within 90 days (these would need to be extreme and severe)

Examples of surgeries that are excluded for the time being would be

  • Category 3 (e.g. Breast reductions, post weight loss surgery, relatively minor symptom hand surgery and cosmetic procedures)

Mr White is hoping to continue to provide a high level of service to his patients while minimising future impacts as we enter a truly extraordinary time.

If Mr White and his team can be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Stay safe and well.
